The U.S. Postal Service says they have seen an increase this year in the number of Christmas packages being mailed.
Officials aren't sure how big the increase is but say an improved economy, and increased internet sales are playing a role. Postal officials also say most people are mailing packages earlier allowing more time for their gift to arrive by Christmas.
They do, however, expect folks to continue mailing gifts through next week. For those sending packages next week, the postal service recommends using priority or express mail to help get that gift to its destination on time.
