Two hikers reported missing on Mount Shasta over the weekend have made it off the mountain safely. Siskiyou County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Susan Gravenkamp says 37-year-old Patricia Giamoni and 41-year-old Salvador Frias walked into the shipping docks of a business in Weed at about 11:30 p.m. Monday.

Gravenkamp says the hikers are dehydrated but otherwise in good
condition.

Where the pair showed up is more than 10 miles from the top of the 14,162-foot mountain, from where Frias called 911 Saturday night and said they needed help. Frias, who's from Millbrae, California, and his friend Giamoni, of Apex, N.C., had a day permit to hike the mountain.

Smoke from hundreds of wildfires burning throughout Northern California formed a thick haze that hampered the aerial search for the pair.
