A memorial service was held today for 36 year old Onslow County Deputy Steve Boehm.

You'll recall Boehm died along side of Firefighter Gene Thomas Saturday, after being struck by a truck while on duty. It was only fitting Boehm's service be held at White Oak High School. Not only did he graduate from White Oak, but he was also a member of the family, as their school resource officer and football coach.

Hundreds of students, faculty members and lawmen from all over the east, gave their last respects to Boehm. Students describe Boehm, as fun, honest, and genuine

A flyover the high school took place after the service. Boehm is survived by his wife, also a teacher at White Oak, and four children.
