More Job Losses for Edenton

Jobs are being cut at a long-time textile plant in Edenton starting sometime in April. The George C. Moore Company's plant weaves and dyes elastic materials used by the textile industry, and has done so since the 1960s. The company, had decided to move most of its operations to Central America in the coming year. Officials say the company will continue to operate in Edenton, but with a much smaller staff.
