After being home from Iraq for only about nine months, the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit at Camp Lejeune will now prepare for deployment once again. Wednesday the unit was officially reactivated for six months of training that could take the MEU back into Iraq for the third time since the war began. The unit consists of about 2,200 Marines and Sailors, will train for all types of conditions but plan to focus on close combat. The 24th MEU will receive its deployment orders sometime this summer.
