About 200 employees of Weyerhaeuser in Plymouth found out Monday they will soon be out of a job. Weyerhaeuser announced Monday morning they will be shutting down their container board production at the end of January, and the jobs involved in the project will be cut.
The company says demand for the product has gone down in the world market, at least that's one reason for the shut down. The company says there are eight Weyerhaeuser sites across the country responsible for making container board, and that was too many. As of right now, Weyerhaeuser says they have no plans to shut down other container board sites.
