While thousands of American Troops spent Thanksgiving Day fighting the war against terrorism overseas, family members left behind were trying to enjoy the day in their absence. As the violence lingers in many parts of Iraq, many Eastern North Carolina military families say their hearts, thoughts, and wishes are with their spouses, or children who won't be coming home anytime soon. One military parent we talked to has twin daughters serving in the United States Air Force. She says it's a sad time, but also a time to be strong.
