Travel During the Holiday Will Be Heavy

In the air and on the road, folks are headed out to their holiday destinations.

Thursday is one of the busiest travel days of the year, and state troopers will be out in force looking for speeders and reckless drivers. Random roadside checks for impaired drivers also will be conducted.

AAA Carolinas says there were more than 2,600 wrecks across the state last Thanksgiving, killing 24 people.

More than one million drivers are expected to be on North Carolina roads during the holiday.
