It's another step in efforts to four-lane all of Highway 17 in North Carolina.
The Windsor bypass on Highway 17 in Bertie County is complete.
Officials opened the 9.2 mile four lane stretch that took two and a half years to construct. The bypass was finished five months ahead of schedule. The speed limit along a majority of the bypass is 70 miles per hour.
Three new businesses are currently being built and several new jobs are also available for local residents.

I am liking the new road, Seems to have helped reduce the amount of tractor trailers trying to turn at the bridge!

I am glad for that. I travel on that road 8 times a month going between Greenville and Virginia Beach!
