Horse Skills Refined In Washington

It's like a scene from the movie the horse whisperer, but it's all a part of what horse enthusiast call dressage.

Riders guide these graceful animals through combined tests that include jumps and stadium courses. This competition was held at the Fox Hollow Farm just outside of Washington over the weekend where over 50 riders saddled up to showcase their horses' winning struts. But dressage competitions aren't all fun and games. Fox Hollow trainers say small competitions like this is the ground work for talented riders that could one day take their skills to the Olympic level of competition.

This competition in Beaufort County was organized by the Eastern Dressage Combined Training Association at Fox Hollow Farm.
