The youngest person ever convicted of murder in the state is now out of jail. Melanie Gray was 14 years old when she was arrested and eventually convicted of murder for helping to kill a Wilmington High School student for his Ford Mustang. Friday morning, at age 25, she walked out of a Raleigh prison a free woman. During her time in jail, she was charged with 118 prison infractions, the most recent less than a month ago.
