Some residents are blaming rotting railroad ties for derailing of a train in Elizabeth City. Four cars derailed over the weekend at a track-switching point. No one was hurt, but residents there have complained to city officials that some of the railroad ties on the line are rotting and don't look sturdy enough for cars to stay on the rails. They're especially concerned because the train tracks extend past a natural gas pumping station.
