The police chief of Bethel in Pitt County and one of is lieutenants have been arrested on drug charges. A criminal complaint says chief Reginald Roberts and Lieutenant Jerome E. Cox conspired to distribute and possess with intent to distribute crack cocaine. Roberts is also charged with unlawfully selling or otherwise disposing of a firearm to a person knowing or having reasonable cause to believe that the person was a convicted felon. The next court date for the two is Tuesday, November 1 at the Federal Courthouse in Greenville.
