Greenville police need your help in catching two thieves who stole a generator from the bed of a pickup truck.

The whole thing was caught on a surveillance tape from the Quality Inn on South Memorial Drive.

On the tape one man is seen climbing into the back of the pickup truck and lifting the generator to the other man.

Police believe the two used a white Cadillac to haul the generator away around 5:50 a.m. on May 16th.

Anyone having information as to the ownership of the white Cadillac, or the identity of the two suspects are asked to contact Greenville Crime Stoppers at 252-758-7777.

Did you ever think that if they were staying in a motel, they may NOT be locals and know the environment they were in?

Maybe they did not have a crane to suspend it.

Seriously. They could have stolen to whole truck.

How do people expect us to identify criminals in all these crappy low quality videos?

To Frank and J no matter what you may think we shouldn't have to lock everything down and hide it! but in a sense I see your point

Um yeah, so your video is of the weather forecast and not the surveillance.

Why can't we get bait vehicles and merchandise in our local towns? Just stick a generator equipped with LoJack in plain veiw and catch these scuzballs! Would Crime Stoppers pay the general public if we set up the bait with LoJack, filmed the crime, and tracked the property then notified the police? I bet not, but if so, good idea for a business...hmmmmm (How about it editor?)

A notorious crime area and no police presence again. Who would be so stupid to leave something like that unattended in the back of a pickup truck. Should have just had a neon sign blazing above the truck that read "items to steal-easy pickins".

Did you seriouslyleave a generator in the back of your truck right downthe road from the ghetto? Good job. even if it was somewhere else...why would you leave something like that in plain site. Good luck getting that back. its gonna be used this winter, for sure.
