A new way of learning in Pamlico County has many students excited about learning.

A new interactive approach called the Promethean Active Classroom already in place at Pamlico Middle School in Bayboro allows students to answer quiz and test questions by answering via a remote control.

The one unit must be shared for now, but school officials hope to put one in every classroom in the district by the end of the year. Grants totaling nearly a million dollars from the state brought the new technology to Pamlico county. Much of that grant was received at the beginning of this year.

The impact 3 grant provided by the state is designed to integrate technology and make learning more engaging in schools. Only 10 districts in our state currently use the active classroom.
