Now the clean up begins for many residents across the east whose homes, cars, even businesses took on water during Saturday's flash flooding. Saturday's rain maker proved to be a worthy opponent to Eastern Carolinians living in areas that experienced nearly 10 inches of waterfall, and several feet of flood water. At a day care center in Washington, a playroom filled with toys and learning supplies for dozens of children was totally submerged by rising water.
The owner says she plans to go ahead and open her day care Monday, keeping her regular schedule, but it will take several days before the kids playroom will completely dry out.
