UPDATE: Chowan County Firefighters Battled Fire At Old School Building

Fire crews battled a large fire at the old White Oak School building in Chowan County north of Edenton near the intersection of
Virginia Road and Dillard's Mill Road Monday night.

Edenton Fire Chief Craig Forlines tells WITN, fire departments were called out to the unoccupied building about 8 p.m. Early Tuesday, dispatchers said fire crews had cleared the scene.

We have no reports of injuries. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
