A Pitt County Red Cross volunteer is back from the hurricane ravaged area of the Gulf Coast. For three weeks, Martha Taylor Hardee lent a helping hand in and around the city of Waveland, Mississippi. While there, Martha kept a diary of the day to day events and what she saw while providing relief to hundreds of families displaced by Katrina and Rita. Martha said there are no words to describe the devastation that is down there and what those people are going through. When asked if she will return, Martha says those three weeks alone took all that she had to give.
