Thursday, the Greenville Police Department introduced their first female motorcycle officer. Officer Paula Sauls has been a part of the Greenville Police Department for the last nine years but behind the wheel of a car or as part the city's narcotics unit. Sauls is the first woman in North Carolina to pass the State Highway Patrol motorcycle training course. Officer Sauls is still waiting for one thing to complete her new uniform, a pair of riding boots that fit. Since most motorcycle officers are men, her boots have to be specially made.
