Visitors to Roanoke Island's Festival Park were caught up in a time warp this weekend, taking a trip back 400 years to the English Renaissance, and the reign of Queen Elizabeth the First. Cannon fire cracked the air along the Manteo waterfront Saturday afternoon, as the Elizabeth Two waged war with a skiff loaded with muskets. The annual program is called "Elizabethan Tymes, A Country Faire." Patrons to the park could see 16th century woodworking, blacksmithing, and weapons demonstrations. A court of well decorated nobles walked the grounds throughout the weekend, with all the pomp and circumstance of a modern day celebrity entourage.
