The Pitt County Fair officially kicked off Monday evening. The fairgrounds, off of Greenville Boulevard near the 264 interchange, will be open for the fair until October 8 for all to enjoy the rides, food and fun. Organizers say this year's event is the biggest and best yet with more rides and one-of-a-kind exhibits like a fossil collection. This is the 85th year the American Legion has sponsored the Pitt County Fair.
