Icarus International transferred ownership of the monument dedicated to a Century of Flight, to the town of Kitty Hawk, Thursday. The monument was erected in 2003. With the handshake of Icarus International President Don Bryan, and Kitty Hawk Mayor Bill Harris, the town agrees to maintain the monuments for future generations to enjoy. The Outer Banks Community Foundation has raised $300,000 for the structure’s maintenance.
