A Wake County judge has ordered a Lenoir County company to stop contacting homeowners facing foreclosure.

Attorney General Roy Cooper claims Alphin Marketing Group, also doing business as Alphin Group, Inc., is targeting distressed homeowners with false offers to drastically reduce or eliminate late mortgage payments.

Cooper says the company combed through public courthouse records, and sent homeowners facing foreclosure a letter saying they could help them avoid foreclosure.

So far five homeowners have filed complaints about Alphin Group. One woman claimed the company took her $1,100 and she never heard from them again.

Around 1998 this man scammed about $25,000 from us.He has since made several very small payments and made empty promises to fully repay us when confronted several years ago but has failed to do so.Some took him to court and got their money back. This man has scammed numerous people we know including honest church going people who at one time trusted him.We have since learned his life has consisted of scams and schemes that evidently continues to this day.
