Historic Landmark In Ophelia's Path

As Atlantic Beach braces for Hurricane Ophelia, some are worried about what this storm could do to the area's historic landmark, Fort Macon. The fort, constructed in 1826, has seen many storms come and go with more major damage. But some wonder about this very slow moving system, a System could bring with it nearly seven inches of rain for one area. Park rangers say the fort has many drains, but beach erosion is their biggest concern. The fort just had beach renourishment last year.
