A state response team is on the job and a plan is already in place if Ophelia hits Eastern North Carolina. The team is composed of employees from the state forestry and emergency management divisions along with 200 North Carolina National Guard members. Those working in the command center will coordinate requests for supplies, equipment and personnel. Members with the North Carolina National Guard are stationed throughout Eastern North Carolina.
