A winter weather advisory has been issued for all of eastern Carolina except Carteret, Onslow, and Duplin counties through 4am Friday. Light freezing rain and sleet will be possible.
National Weather service has issued a high surf advisory which is in effect until 6 p.m. Monday. The National Weather service reports that Hurricane Ophelia is deepening to the South and expected to slowly move Northward. High surf is expected along the coast of Currituck County until Monday night.
