A high risk of rip currents and dangerous surf conditions Saturday from Hurricane Ophelia seem to be encouraging swimmers to hit the choppy water.
At Whichard's Beach in Beaufort County Saturday sun rays invited sunbathers, swimmers and boaters despite Ophelia's threat to the east coast. Donna Cullipher tells WITN she brought her kids to the water to enjoy the windy conditions that can been seen even as far inland as the Pamlico River in Beaufort County.
