A Virginia man died, but his three-year-old daughter was saved from the deadly rip currents off Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge along Bodie Island Saturday. The National Park Service says surfers rescued the child, but could not get to the man in time. Authorities say the two were in waist-deep water Saturday afternoon when the current swept them into the ocean.
