Four Troops From Camp Lejeune Killed in Iraq

Three Marines and a Soldier assigned to a unit based at Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville are dead, following two different attacks in Iraq. Their names are being withheld until their families are notified. Three Marines serving with the Second Marine Division of the Second Marine Expeditionary Force were killed Thursday, when a roadside bomb blew up their vehicle. Other Marines on the scene responded by killing two insurgents and capturing four others. Meanwhile, an Army soldier assigned to the same Marine unit died of wounds suffered in a different attack Thursday. Nearly 2000 U.S. troops have died in Iraq since the war began.
