The old Dr. Pepper plant in Washington is being demolished, but what was left was destroyed by fire Friday. Fire officials say the blaze broke out at Third and Bridge streets around 3 o'clock in the afternoon. Demolition crews were trying to salvage the steel beams and as they were doing that, the torches they were using reacted with the tin roof and timber inside the building. No injuries have been reported. The building was being torn down to make way for a new building project that included town homes and condos.
