Your Help Is Still Needed

It's been a week since Katrina swallowed up much of the Gulf Coast, and eastern Carolinians are still eager to help.

A huge trailer parked outside Down East Motor Company in Washington is partially filled with bottled water, canned goods, diapers and other necessities, but those organizing the effort say it's not nearly enough.

The goal is to have the truck completely filled by Thursday morning when it will depart for Louisiana. Down East Motor Company is just one drop-off location.
