Local Firemen Headed to Hurricane Devastation

The Jacksonville Fire Chief, and two of his firefighters are heading down to the Louisiana-Mississippi area in an effort to help with the recovery efforts from Hurricane Katrina. The firemen are responding to the nation's request for 1,000 two-man teams to help with rescues, and other recovery initiatives. The men were warned to expect horrible living conditions for at least 30 days, and they had to be physically fit enough to handle the tough labor. However, they said they were excited about the trip.
