Its been an amazing show of support by the people across Eastern Carolina for the Hurricane Katrina victims, and nowhere was that seen more than at Saturday's ECU football game. The American Red Cross was on hand with a collection jar taking monetary donations, and the donations were a plenty.
Now the Red Cross has called WITN saying that there are those who would try to scam you during this time of crisis. They say they do not go door to door soliciting money, so if someone knocks on your door saying they are the American Red Cross they are lying. Look for a personal identification tag naming the organization before you make any donation.
