Getting to or from school is already on the minds of lots of folks who are driving school busses across Eastern Carolina. If you see a school bus, you should be prepared to see a state trooper or other law enforcement officer. That's because they'll be keeping a very close watch over drivers trying to pass stopped busses, or just not using caution at bus stops and in school zones. The busses are designed for safety, but Pitt County's transportation supervisor says busses are only as safe as the traffic they share the road with.
