Truck Jack Knifes Spilling Hundreds of Gallons of Gas

A tractor trailer on its side, leaking hundreds of gallons of fuel. That was the scene Monday morning on Highway 11 near Conetoe. It's the second time in a week, a big rig has jack knifed in the same area in Edgecombe county. Troopers say the driver of the rig tried to make a right turn onto the exit for Highway 64, when the truck fell over on its side, puncturing the fuel tank and spilling nearly 240 gallons of fuel on to the road. It took four hours to clean up the mess and replace soil that was saturated with fuel.
