Bluegrass for Baseball

Video will be available shortly.

The sounds of bluegrass music were heard at Guy Smith Stadium in Greenville Saturday afternoon. The first Babe Ruth Baseball Blue Grass Festival held Saturday was part of a fundraiser to help support a $30,000 annual budget for the Babe Ruth baseball teams. The organization which puts about 200 baseball players up to bat at Guy Smith Stadium over the summer is strictly run on community donations. And at 25 dollars a ticket for this event, festival goers got an ear full.

The Babe Ruth Baseball teams consist of four 13 year old teams, six 14-to-15 year old teams, two 16-to-18 year old teams, who organizers say must all be outfitted for next year.
