Northwest Workers Strike

Northwest airlines mechanics are now on strike against the nation's fourth largest air carrier. When the strike was announced at 12-01 this morning, workers at the SEATAC International Airport in Washington were already walking the picket lines. The mechanics union decided to strike after refusing huge pay cuts and layoffs from the company. Northwest has pledged to keep the airline flying.
