A South Central High School student is lucky to be alive after she was run over by the very school bus that was to take her to school Monday morning.
The student, identified as 15-year-old Jasmine Best, was hit around 8:00 am along Tobacco Road and Shiloh Drive in Greenville. Authorities say students at the bus stop typically rush towards the oncoming already crowded bus to get a seat. Best was conscious and told the police at the scene she didn't know if she tripped, or was accidentally pushed from behind. Best was taken to Pitt County Memorial Hospital where hospital officials say she is in fair condition. At this time no charges have been filed.
