Agreement Protects 7000 Acres Of Land

It's the end of a five year agreement environmentalists say helped protect thousands of acres of significant natural areas in Eastern Carolina. Nearly 6000 acres of land have been protected over the past five years through a partnership between Weyerhaeuser, state environmental agencies and the Coastal Land Trust. In all, over 7000 acres will be conserved, unable to be developed, because of this agreement. The last part of this project is an easement at Weyerhaeuser's site in Askin located in Craven County.
