Washington Soldier Dies in Iraq

Video will be available shortly.

A Washington, Beaufort County family is mourning the loss of their son who was killed in action while serving in Iraq. Army Specialist Kevin Jones is being described by his family as a person who loved to help others. Jones was killed last Thursday when a bomb exploded under his vehicle. Jones was part of the 181st Transportation battalion 7th Corps Support Group and 3rd Corps Support Command in Mannheim, Germany. Doctor Kamlyn Jones, Kevin's sister said she wants everybody to know how proud his family is about everything that he's done and everything he represents, and wants them to know how he loved he was by everyone, not only in the family, but in the community and far away. Tuesday the Jones family was informed that Kevin will be honored with two Purple Hearts, and a bronze star for his service.
