Organizers are gearing up for the 19th annual North Carolina Seafood Festival this weekend along the Morehead City waterfront. This year the event has some new offerings for kids, including Sassy's Island Playground, planned by the Carteret County Partnership for Children. The new event will offer story telling every hour, clowns, fossil digs and numerous hands-on arts and crafts projects. As always, the festival will include plenty of food, crafts, rides, and live music. The event starts this Friday and runs through Sunday.
