Lightning Strike Destroys Building

Video will be available shortly.

A fire in Pamlico County early Friday morning was started by lightning, nearly catching a couple's home on fire. Mayo and Hattie Credle were awakened to a loud boom just before 8 a.m. Friday morning. At the time, they were unaware the noise was lightning striking a large storage building just behind their house. Firefighters were able to keep the blaze from getting to the home, but not before it destroyed the storage building and everything in it. Mayo says that building was part of his original home, where he was born and raised. But Mayo says he's not looking at what he lost, rather, what he still has.
