Putting "Old Glory" to rest was the idea behind a very heartfelt ceremony that took place honoring the stars and stripes many Americans have fought and died to defend.
This weekend members of the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 272 held a United States flag retirement ceremony. From the cutting, folding and burning of the flag, "Old Glory" was put to rest like many military members who have died in her name; with honor.
The Ayden-Grifton JROTC conducted the retirement ceremony at the 272 Post off Old Cemetery Road in Greenville.
