People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals is offering a reward after a family pet in the Pitt County town of Falkland was stoned to death. The group tells WITN that they will offer a $1,000 reward to the public for any information leading to the arrest or conviction of the individuals responsible for this crime. Last Friday, July 22, a seven-month-old mixed breed puppy was found dead while chained in the backyard of his home at 3249 Kings Branch Drive. The people that owned the dog say they believe the reward money will help bring justice.
