Officials Testify Against Parole

Officials in Onslow County say Marcus Shrader terrorized the Jacksonville community and are trying to convince the parole commission he needs to stay locked up. The Onslow County District Attorney, Sheriff Ed Brown and Onslow County commissioner Delma Collins met with the parole commission in Raleigh to convince them Shrader should not be paroled. Shrader was convicted in the murder and kidnapping of one woman and accused in the murder of three other women in the 1970's. The parole commission has 90 days to make a decision and is required by law to review cases like shrader's each year.
