Hands on Learning

Up, up and away. After NASA's launch of the space shuttle Discovery Tuesday morning, some children in Wilson launched their own rocket. Just down the street from the Imagination Station science museum in Wilson a crowd gathered to watch two rockets take off. The event is part of the rocket program at the Imagination Station, which encourages children to learn about science through hands on activities like building and learning about rockets. The children and their families also learned the mechanics of how the rockets launch.
