After 10 months, members of a Pamlico County congregation broke ground on the new sanctuary and fellowship hall today.

You may recall, Bethany Christian Church in Arapahoe, caught fire last June.

The fire Marshall ruled, faulty wiring caused the blaze that completely destroyed the 95-year-old church.

Members say, they church was under-insured so they've had to raise the funds for a new building. They tell us, so far they've raised about 80 percent of it.
