FEMA Visits Crystal Coast

Video will be available shortly.

As folks in Carteret County begin the task of cleaning up after Ophelia, they're also waiting to hear how the Federal Emergency Management Agency or FEMA plans to help them. Residents in Salter Path on Bogue Banks say FEMA representatives came by Friday of last week to survey the damage and find out how much it may cost to repair the area. County officials also met with FEMA today to give them an idea what it may take to repair county buildings, vehicles and pick up storm debris. It may be several days and even weeks before it's clear how much, if at all, FEMA will pitch in.
