High Price for Ophelia

The damage estimates are getting even higher when it comes to a price tag for Hurricane Ophelia.

Carteret County officials say that the Crystal Coast could see nearly 16 million dollars in damage in that county alone, and news agencies said that Onslow County had 8.5 million in damage, and that the total price tag for Eastern Carolina could top 33 million. News agencies are reporting that Carteret County was declared a federal disaster area, and that many of Eastern Carolina's crops and farm lands were affected by this major storm.
