Beaufort County lawmen are investigating a hit and run that left a motorist critically injured.
It happened on Highway 17 near Bridge Street and West Third Street in the city of Washington. Lawmen tell us just before 8 p.m. Friday night a 34 year old Washington man was driving his scooter when a white vehicle, unknown make and model, side-swiped the driver and left him injured in the middle of the street. A reward is being offered by Crimestoppers for any information leading to an arrest in this case. You can dial 252-974-6400 to reach Washington authorities.
Lawmen say the white vehicle should have damage marks with red paint from colliding with the Washington man's scooter.
